Style Guide

The new style guide contains Millcreek Township's official mission, vision, values, voice and design standards. These designs are all owned by Millcreek Township under resolution 2023-R-14, approved April 11,2023. Permission from Millcreek Township is required to utilize these designs externally. 

Our vision is to cultivate a growing and inspired community of neighbors. This new identity pushes us forward towards that ultimate vision.

Primary Seal 

THE PRIMARY SEAL

First, the North Pier Light serves as a beacon for families and travelers. Additionally, the North Pier Light is unique to America. The light also represents the tradition of industry that Millcreek was created upon. 

Second, the six stars refer to the new Millcreek values listed in the style guide. 

Third, the stacked lines can be interpreted as a landscape scene, but are also a reference to the three supervisors of Millcreek Township. 

Fourth, the birthdate of Millcreek Township can be traced back to the original naming and creation of Erie County on March 12, 1800.

Alternative Mark

THE ALTERNATIVE MARK 

Our alternative mark helps us communicate with clarity. The primary seal design is official, if you see it on a shirt or vehicle, that is an employee of Millcreek Township. If you see the alternative mark on shirt or vehicle you know that is a proud member of the Millcreek community or someone that is Millcreek Made. 

This design is still owned by Millcreek Township and can still be used on official Millcreek designs or signage. Express permission is still needed to use this design.

Design-wise the alternative mark features the same colors as the primary seal, but with an added splash of orange and green. The lighthouse in both is the same.

OTHER SECONDARY DESIGNS 

The other secondary designs include iterations of the internal design in the primary seal. There is also an officially designed wordmark. Finally, there is a white varient for every design, including the primary seal to show up on darker backgrounds. While not the primary colorway for Millcreek Township, there are instances where the proper contrast of the light seal is necessary. 

THE MISSION 

To serve the community of Millcreek Township.

This differs from the vision statement as it describes what we do every day. It was intentional to make the mission as short as possible. This is the most concise way to describe everything we do.

THE VISION

To cultivate a growing and inspired community of neighbors. 

A vision statement refers to where you want to go. Our vision is to create a community of neighbors that can be truly inspired by Millcreek. We want to create a culture of being a good neighbor. 

THE VALUES

The new values listed are a collection of topics that are vital to Millcreek Township in the past, present and future. There are many positive meanings associated with each value. 

FAMILY

Whether they're new, just visiting, or lifetime residents, Millcreek strives to make everyone in the community feel at home.

INDUSTRY

Millcreek grew from a tradition of local business and commerce. That relationship must be continued for future success.

RECREATION

We believe that Millcreek residents and visitors should enjoy the natural beauty Millcreek has to offer. We show this through the various classes and effort put forth by our Parks and Recreation Department. 

STEWARDSHIP 

We are committed to serving and maintaining Millcreek through all means at our disposal; fiscally and in service.

SAFETY

Millcreek cannot grow without a shared community experience of safety at home. We show this everyday through the actions of the incredible Millcreek Police Department. 

SUSTAINABILITY

We must grow sustainably and use sustainably. This includes Millcreek's recycling program and the sustainability efforts of the Community Relations and Sustainability Department.
