Wunch Park
Neighborhood Park (9 acres)

Colonial Avenue at Brooks Street
Owned by Millcreek Township and acquired in 1979

Initial Development & History:

Millcreek Township acquired the land from eight different owners for $31,250.00  and received a grant from Land and Water for half the purchase price in March 1978.

Two ballfields were existing in the park.  Both used by MYAA for little league and senior league.

The main entrance to the park was off Brooks Street.  This was changed in 1979 when the Streets Department relocated the entrance to the center of the park off Colonial Drive and closed off the Brooks Street entrance.

In January 1987, Millcreek Township received a grant for the Department of Community Affairs (RIRA) for $19,000.00.  The Township matching funds would be $30,000.00 and MYAA would give $1,000.00 for the improvements listed below.

On October 3, 1993 the park was officially renamed from Feidler Park to Mark Wunch Memorial Park in honor of fallen Lake Shore Fireman Mark Wunch who was killed in the line of duty in 1988.
