Walnut Creek/Dave Long Complex
Initial Development & History: In 1992, Millcreek School District, Millcreek Township Supervisors & MYAA agreed to undertake the idea of a softball/baseball complex for Millcreek's youth & adult softball & baseball. The property owned by the school district was acquired by Dr. George DeAngelo for the construction of a middle school for Millcreek Township School District (Walnut Creek Middle School). In 1993, the complex was supported by the school district (property lease), Millcreek Township Supervisors ($55,000) & MYAA ($50,000+) and construction began. Numerous supply donations & labor donations were made during the construction phase (began construction in the Fall of 1993). Dedication was initially in 1994 & re-dedication ceremonies in 1998 in honor of McDowell baseball coach Dave Long. Existing Equipment:
The school district has agreed to cut all grass in the complex. Millcreek Township Recreation will drag all dirt infields & collect all garbage. Development:
