Sewer Regulations
Both Millcreek Township and the Millcreek Township Sewer Authority are involved in management, operation and administration of the public sanitary sewer system. The Authority owns the system. Under a lease agreement, the Township operates the system. The Authority finances new projects extending or expanding capacity of the system and assists in many aspects of administration
Regulations governing the sanitary sewer system are generally found in:
The Sewer Use Ordinance (restated by Ordinance 2004-4), which governs connections to and use of the sanitary sewer system.
The Sewer Rental Ordinance (restated by Ordinance 2004-15), which governs the assessment and payment of rents, rates and fees for use of the sewer system.
The Industrial Waste Ordinance (Ordinance No. 94-27, amended by Ordinance 200-4), which regulates discharges of flows beyond ordinary sanitary sewerage.
Rules and Regulations governing the Sanitary Sewer System, as adopted by the Board of Supervisors.
The Sewer Use Ordinance and the Sewer Rental Ordinance can be found and reviewed in their entirety by visiting the particular year of enactment and locating the particular ordinance.
The Sewer Rental Ordinance is amended from time to time, should the rates and/or rents be adjusted.
