Preschool Activities:

Held at the Asbury Barn for ten weeks from March 15th through June 1st. Preschool Activities consist of rhythmics, games, stories and arts & crafts for 3 year-olds and for 4 and 5 year-olds not currently attending kindergarten. Please list birth date on registration form.  Children MUST be out of diapers.  (No Class 3/29, 3/30, 3/31, 4/1, 5/18)

Several activities are planned to help your child grow physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually.  Each week the class will consist of:

• Play time - to develop socialization skills

• Learning time - to explore a new topic each week

• Arts & Crafts time - to work on creativity and fine motor skills

• Song time - to learn a new song or fingerplay or explore rhythm instruments

• Exercise time - to develop gross motor skills

• Story time - to enjoy literature

• Snack time - parents will be asked to sign up to bring a snack or drink for the children

It's sure to be an enjoyable time for all!

Toddler Aerobics: (back to top)

Held at the Asbury Barn for ten weeks starting the week of March 15th through June 1st. 

A fun-filled, interactive exercise class set to music for 3 and 4 year-olds.  Children must be out of diapers.  We ask that parents leave the Barn during class.  (No Class 3/29, 3/30, 3/31, 4/1, 5/18)

This class is designed to show the benefits of staying fit and healthy.  For the next ten (10) weeks, your child will play games that involve physical fitness to help build healthy hearts and bodies.  In addition, we will have talks on the importance of good nutrition. 

Please have your child wear comfortable clothing and sneakers.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Parks and Recreation Department at 835-4122.  Thank you for being a part of Toddler Aerobics!!

Dance and ballet classes are held at the Asbury Barn for eight weeks from March 13th through May 8.  Parents of 3 and 4 year-olds must wait on the first floor of the barn while classes are taking place on the second floor.  No dancewear is required, simple leotard can be worn if desired.  (No class April 3rd)

Family CHI Time: (back to top)

Classes for the kids, classes for the adults: how about a class where young and the not as young can participate together?  In this class you will be introduced to simple tai chi and qigong movements that EVERYONE can do at the same time!  A great bonding time for all the generations in your family. 

Babysitters' Clinic:  (back to top)

Fee: $10.00

Girls and boys 11 years and older can earn certification as responsible babysitters by attending one class.  Instruction includes child care, behavior, safety, security and basic first aid.  You must register in the Recreation Office before attending class.  Space is limited to 20 students.  Please call 835-4122 for more information.
