Upon motion by     Mr. Arthur F. Detisch    , seconded by     Mr. George S. Pulakos    , the following Ordinance was duly enacted,   3   voting in favor of enactment,   0   voting against enactment.

 

ORDINANCE NO.    86-21

 

An Ordinance prohibiting parking in certain designated areas on public and private property in Millcreek Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania, except for persons parking vehicles lawfully bearing registration plates or placards issued to handicapped persons or disabled veterans; providing for posting notice of restricted parking; and providing for a fine of $15.00 for violations thereof.

 

WHEREAS, it is proper and lawful for Millcreek Township under the Motor Vehicle Code and under The Second Class Township Code to regulate parking and to provide parking for handicapped persons in Millcreek Township.

 

BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the Supervisors of Millcreek Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania, and it is hereby enacted and ordained by the authority of same as follows:

 


Section 1.        Except for persons parking vehicles lawfully bearing registration plates or parking placards issued to handicapped persons or disabled veterans, no persons shall park a vehicle on public or private property reserved for a handicapped person or disabled veteran.

 

Section 2.        The areas so established or designated as parking for handicapped persons and disabled veterans shall be duly marked and posted as areas restricted to parking for handicapped persons.

 

Section 3.        Any person charged with violating Section 1 of this Ordinance shall, upon summary conviction before a District Justice, be sentenced to pay a fine of $15.00 and costs of prosecution, and in default of payment thereof, shall undergo imprisonment as the law provides.

 

Section 4.        Any Ordinance or parts of Ordinance inconsistent with the terms of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
