ORDINANCE NO. 16
An Ordinance to promote the safety and
security of the public and the safeguarding of property, by prohibiting the
sale within the Township of Millcreek to any minor under the age of eighteen
years, of any rifle or air pistol, slingshot or any other similar device;
prohibiting the use by any such minor, or possession with intent to use, within
the Township, of any such device; prohibiting any person possessing any such
device from permitting any such minor to use the same within the Township, and
authorizing the Chief of Police to seize, remove and destroy any such device
being unlawfully used or possessed, and providing penalties for violation.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE SUPERVISORS
OF
Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person, persons, firm or corporation to sell, offer or expose for sale, within the Township of Millcreek, to any minor under the age of eighteen years, any rifle or air pistol, (commonly known as B-B gun), sling-shot, or any similar device.
Section 2. That it shall be unlawful for any
minor under the age of eighteen years to use or to possess with intent to use,
within the

owning or having in his custody any of the aforesaid devices, to permit any
minor under the age of eighteen years to use the same within the

That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall, upon each violation and conviction thereof, pay a penalty of not less that Ten ($10.00) Dollars, nor more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, with costs, recoverable before any Justice of the Peace, and upon default of the payment of penalty and costs, the person or persons convicted may be committed to imprisonment not exceeding thirty (30) days.
Section 6. That the intent of this Ordinance is to promote the safety and security of the public and the safeguarding of property within the Township.
Section 7. That all Ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, conflicting herewith are hereby
ENACTED AND ORDAINED this 2nd day of April, 1951.
