NOTICE OF  DISPLAY OF DRAFT ACTION PLAN COMMENT PERIOD AND

FINAL PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING

MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP ’S FY 2010 CDBG PROGRAM

Notice is hereby given that Millcreek Township intends to make application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for FY 2010 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds in the amount of approximately $250,000 to undertake activities which address community development and/or housing needs as identified in the Township’s Five Year Plan, and which primarily benefits low-to-moderate income persons. The Township is entitled to the grant monies each year under the provisions of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.

Based upon a public needs hearing and a review of project requests, the Township proposes that its FY 2010 CDBG funds be used for the following activities:

1)      $195,000 – Highland Park Neighborhood Improvement Project

2)      $25,000 –   Regional Senior Center Operational Support Project

3)      $5,000 –     Fair Housing and Predatory Lending Initiative Project

4)      $3,000 –     Fair Housing Testing and Case Tracking Project

5)      $22,000 –   General Program Administration

A “Draft” Action Plan which briefly describes the projects is available for public review at the below listed locations for thirty days starting March 1, 2010 through March 31, 2010 :

 A public hearing regarding how the Township proposes to use its FY 2010 CDBG funds is scheduled for 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 1, 2010 in the Assembly Room of the Millcreek Township Municipal Building

The Township Supervisors are expected to consider approval of the Application on April 27, 2010 at a regularly scheduled meeting.  The Application will be submitted to HUD on or before May 7, 2010 .
