The Engineering and Zoning offices have moved to a new location in the Municipal Building. We are now located on the east side of the building, across the hall from our former offices.
The Engineering Department is responsible for storm water control, public works projects, review of subdivisions, and review of new commercial and multi-family land developments. Engineering also provides technical services and support to various other Township departments. These services include grant application and management, land surveying, accident scene diagramming, technical drawing, and mapping. In addition, the Department maintains records of the Township’s public works assets and makes the information available to Township employees as well as the general public.
The staff has a particular interest in the application of technological advancements to digitize records and maps to increase their ease of use and availability. These initiatives include expanding the Township’s use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to enhance the quality of Township maps and employing shared document environments to convert paper documents to digital versions, available at employee’s workstations.
